Genealogy and history of our family,
its village of origin and allied families

Introduction

Started back in August, 1993, my genealogic adventure was soon coupled with the natural need to discover the other American members of this old Dutch family. This was the launch of another journey of discovery - our European members and the history of the village of Aalten, home of our family since the 17th century.

All research was entered into a computer, with the goal of publishing the history of our family and its village of origin.

Maintaining and adding to the over 300 individuals tracked so far, their biographies, the publishing work, the enjoyment in meeting and exchanging with members of the family in the US and abroad, and finally the enthusiasm of many cousins, have inspired the creation of this home page.

The goals of this home page are:

• Genealogic and historical research on the family and allied

• History research on the village of Aalten

• Promoting discussion among the members of the family

• Promoting a family reunion in August, 1997 in Aalten

• Maintain links between the family members

• Establishing links and meetings with family members abroad

• Publishing data on the family and it's roots
